DigitalMusicNews.com: Artists Say ‘Exposure’ Is Way More Important Than Getting Paid…

In response to a study published by UK-based artist management, music marketing and distribution company Right Chord Music, Paul Resnikoff–publisher and founder of Digital Music News–says the results of the poll illustrates “why it’s so easy to book an artist for free.  And, why the whole concept of a musicians’ union seems so far-fetched.”

According to the background story Right Chord Music presents as a preface to the study, they “launched The Big Survey in association with Farida Guitars to better understand the challenges and realities facing musicians in 2013.”

The survey was conducted online. Over 200 mostly unsigned and indie artists and bands from US, UK, and Australia participated. The findings and analysis of the findings can be read in the complete report here.
